Hi, I’m Ella
The counsellor behind ESJ Counselling.
I became a counsellor because I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, lost, or unsure where to turn. I also know how powerful it can be to have someone really listen – not to fix or judge, but just to be there. That’s why I do this, to offer that space for others, whether you’re an adult trying to cope with life’s pressures or a young person feeling stuck or confused.
From early on, I found myself drawn to understanding people’s emotions – especially the ones that feel hard to explain. Over time, that grew into a passion for helping others make sense of their feelings and feel more in control of their own story. I truly believe that, with the right support, everyone has the strength to grow and heal – even if it doesn’t feel that way right now.
Many of the people I work with come to me feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or stuck in difficult thought patterns. Some are dealing with intrusive thoughts or trying to make sense of things that don’t feel quite right. Whatever brings you here, I’ll meet you with kindness, patience, and a genuine belief that change is possible.
I work as an integrative therapist, which simply means I don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach. I draw from different therapeutic models to suit you, but my work is rooted in a humanistic approach — I see you as the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you explore what you need. I have a special interest in supporting children and young people, helping them build emotional understanding and confidence in a gentle, age-appropriate way.
Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £40. I work in a private, welcoming space in Bridgwater and Burnham on sea. I also offer online sessions if that’s easier for you.
